Wholesale Removable modernist religious plaque – Christ in profile – patinated metal – circa 1940–60

The gaze is elsewhere. That is what strikes first. This Christ in profile does not try to convince. He asserts himself differently. By the line, by the relief, by this composition constructed almost like an inner image. The crown of thorns becomes structure. The halo opens into a radiance. On the left, the chalice appears, discreet, essential. Everything is contained. Nothing is excessive. The material, patinated in warm tones, accompanies the volumes without freezing them.
