I was inspired to paint this watercolor memorial after learning about the passing of Lonely George the last Tree Snail in a Oahu, HI. Here he's surrounded by flora tree snails live amongst, Oheia lehuna, a sacred red flowering shrub that is sacred to the native people of the island.
