Six quiet interiors by Johannes Vermeer, gathered as one survey-sheet gallery wall. The set collects Allegory of the Catholic Faith, Lady Standing at a Virginal, The Art of Painting, The Astronomer, The Music Lesson and Woman Reading a Letter. Each painting is reproduced on a warm cream mount with a printed caption band beneath it, setting the bold work title against the artist name, the approximate date and the collection that holds it, then a column of mock field-survey readings with elevation, latitude and longitude, as though a surveyor had catalogued each room rather than an art historian. Vermeer worked in Delft in the 1660s and early 1670s and left only a few dozen pictures, most of them small domestic scenes lit from a window on the left, which is why these six read so strongly as one continuous house. The deep blues, chalky plaster whites and black-and-white tiled floors sit well in a living room, a study or a calm bedroom. Lustre is a beautiful finish which is somewhere between a Matte and a Gloss. If you're not sure what to choose then Lustre looks fantastic on al prints in our store. If you'd like your item printed onto a stiff watercolour-style paper which has a textured rougher surface then choose our "textured" option. Finally we have a 100% cotton paper which is extra sturdy, displays colours beautifully and is probably the best option if you want a classic Matte (non-reflective) finish. • SIZE: Our prints come in a variety of sizes so please check measurements and choose carefully from the drop down list above.
