Half a millimetre and pale tan, so a bottle that looks like nothing but grit is a bottle working exactly as intended. What makes it worth keeping on a plant is what it does when the pest runs out: it switches to pollen and other small prey and simply stays — weeks with almost nothing to eat, still there when the mites come back. It is also about as simple as pest control gets. Nothing to mix, nothing to spray, no residue and no re-entry interval — you dust it onto the foliage and leave it. It works the undersides and the new growth without your help, and spider mites cannot develop resistance to being eaten. The trade is speed. It eats more slowly than persimilis, so on a plant already webbed over it will not catch up alone — the standard answer is both, persimilis onto the hot spots and californicus across everything else as the patrol.
