Description
Handmade paper from Nepal. Lokta is strong and versatile. It can be painted on with most media but also drawn on. It can be cut, stamped and of course glued, it is a great paper for paper crafters, collage artists, decoupage and bookmakers, as well as for printmaking. You can use the lighter weight paper to make your own handmade special gift wrap or for other decorative uses. Lokta is made from the Daphne plant, commonly known as the Lokta plant. It is seasonally harvested from the base of the Himalayas and grows back each year. It is then hand process and made into pulp, the same way it has been made for centuries. This is the lightest weight of our Lokta paper, it is great for chine colle and other specialized printmaking processes, but can still be painted, drawn on, collaged, stamped and cut and glued. It is a bit thick for overlays, but a great lightweight gift paper that you could customize. Photo is a 4" x 4" section of the sheet.
