Description
This octagonal copper coin was made during the 3rd age of Middle-earth™ in the Mines of Erebor™ under the rule of Thráin II, father to Thorin Oakenshield. Thráin ruled as King of Durin's Folk during their exile from The Lonely Mountain. The Arkenstone™ is shown on an anvil. The Arkenstone, also known as "The Heart of the Mountain", was a great treasure found deep inside The Lonely Mountain that was worked into a faceted jewel. Inscribed in Dwarvish around the stone are the words THRAIN TURGUL Y EREBOR, “Thráin, King Under The Lonely Mountain.” On the reverse is a mighty axe and the phrase BARUK KHAZÂD, “Axes of the Dwarves.” Coin artwork and engraving by Tom Maringer and Woody Maringer ©2022 “The Hobbit”, “Middle-earth”, “The Shire”, “The Lord of the Rings”, and the characters, events, items and places therein are trademarks of Middle-earth Enterprises, LLC used under license by Maringer Studios LLC dba Shire Post Mint.
