The rope works as a wick, simply flip over the freshener for 1-2 seconds to allow the oil to soak into the rope for a boost of scent. I flip mine about once a week, and itll last about three months at that pace! Myself and my customers have had them last plenty longer. AND they are refillable (refills avail).
