ILLUSION - A large, double twist with a spectacular central koru. This really is a beautiful piece! Carved for us by Ross Crump - every critical element for fine jade art has come together - a great design, beautiful stone and exceptional craftsmanship. ILLUSION is a wonderful pendant carved from a rare Marsden Flower Jade. The deepest of greens with a blaze of layered gold cutting across the bottom - a unique piece of fine art crafted to wear! ILLUSION is lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch. The twist carving with its crisscross form represents the many paths of life and love and as such is regarded as the original eternity symbol. The single twist carving represents the joining together of two people for eternity. Its shape describes the way relationships shift, sometimes moving apart, but coming together as a couple share their lives. It represents how the strong bond of friendship, loyalty and love last forever. The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
