Description
All aboard...! Print illustrates the Halifax streetcar map c. 1927. Once found on the streets of Halifax, streetcar tracks are now buried under pavement. Occasionally they resurface when winter exposes hints of history through dreaded potholes. One of the original forms of public transportation in many cities, the last streetcar rode down Barrington in March of 1949. In its heyday, Halifax had 11 streetcar routes. The Barrington Street route ran 1 car every 60 seconds in 1939! Dimensions: 11" x 14" Sold unframed Giclée printed with archival inks on watercolour paper Packaged in a cello sleeve with cardboard reinforcing Designed and printed in Canada Fan of streetcars? I bought a bunch of items as a preliminary order for my new business. Every single item is awesome and I shall be re-ordering in the future.
