A Florida favorite, Gallberry is a flowering shrub that is native to the southeastern United States, including Florida. The shrub produces white flowers in the spring, and bees can forage nectar from the flowers to produce gallberry honey. The first question we are always asked about gallberry is, "Does it have berries?" the bush does, in fact, they have hard purple-ish berries (that are not edible). It blooms from late April to early June. Gallberry honey is slow to crystallize and is high in pollen and enzymes!
