Mandelic Acid falls into the category of alpha-hydroxy acids, i.e. molecules with an exfoliating, lightening and depigmenting action. It is obtained from bitter almonds and compared to other AHAs it is less aggressive on the skin. It also stands out from other AHAs for its high molecular weight, which allows it to act on the surface state of the skin. Its gentle exfoliating action allows it to act on the surface layer of the skin, minimizing fine lines and small wrinkles and reducing enlarged pores. Its gentle exfoliating action works well even in the case of post-pimple spots, ephelids and skin discolorations.
