Look Down The sidewalks of the Outer Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco are unique and Julie became obsessed and hyper-aware of their patterns and playfulness. For years, she documented their inconsistencies and cracks, the unusual and handmade oddities, the beauty in the ugly, the city mark-making, and turned that love into a photographic catalog of concrete finds of the city floor. Sunset Sidewalks aims to expose the beauty in the mundane—perfections and imperfections that go unnoticed right underneath our feet. This new series of cards is a collaboration between Julie's sidewalk image collection and The Aesthetic Union's letterpress translation of patterns into printed lines.
