Description
Clay collected in in the Sierra Foothills of CA and processed in small batches. These cups were fired on their sides in a soda kiln. The glaze, made of local granite and wood ash, is applied to half of each cup and allowed to drip down during the firing. Some are drippier than others, and the glaze color ranges from dark green to opaque white. The undersides are dark red/brown PLEASE NOTE!: Because they were fired on seashells, there will be remnants of the shells, indentations, and scars on all of the pieces where the shells and pooled glaze were sanded down. These create varied textures and a landscape-like effect, but are definitely not for everyone. About 4" tall

The depth of the glazes, the uniqueness of the clay, the delicate heft, much appreciated.
