Known as a "wedding shawl" by the Mossi people of Burkina Faso who use this textile as a shawl. Typically women wear this textile at a wedding, or a special occasion. This textile was made for their own purpose and was not intended for other use.   However to us, it is a beautiful denim indigo fabric with natural faded areas from use, which has great appeal and unique character. When woven, these textiles are composed of many small bands about 6" wide. Our denim indigo fabrics are vintage with a tight weave, containing accented tassels at the ends of the textile.
