The lady van dalfsen was brewed to celebrate the archaeological funds in dalfsen from the Merovingian period (early Middle Ages). We were inspired by a classic type of beer: the oatmeal stout. We used grains that were available during that period: barley, spelt and oats. We brewed a dark beer with these ingredients, with an ebc of about 100. The beer has a slight bitterness (ibu 36) with a nice scent of some English hop varieties such as fuggles and kent golding and is soft with a fruity aroma but with a slight hint of roasted malts.
