Description
Similar to tinctures and elixirs, glycerites are herb extracts made from glycerin, a clear, naturally sweet substance similar to honey in weight and consistency. Much like essential oils, but milder, glycerites are made by soaking an herb (or herb blend) in glycerin for a period of time (usually 6-8 weeks) to absorb the properties of the herb(s). They are used both topically with lotions, creams, and face masks and internally as a sweetener in tea and as medicine. Glycerites last up to two years.
