The inspiration behind the packaging The Australian Natural Soap Company has collaborated with Indigenous artist, Daphne Marks who has allowed us to use her artwork depicting the Yalka (or bush onion) for the Australian Bush range packaging. Daphne Marks is a prolific painter and was one of the youngest artists to work at Ikuntji Art Centre. Bush onions (Yalka) grow after the rain and are collected by all the women. They can be eaten raw or cooked in the hot sand next to the campfire. "We cook them just a little bit, like Maku (witchetty grub)" Daphne Marks. A percentage of this sale goes directly to Daphne.
