This year, the Vatican Nativity scene is from Peru, and we decided to create a whole collection of Nativity scenes (retablo). Hang your own in your Christmas Tree! 🎄 This Christmas gourd features 7 ceramic figurines in a Nativity scene, each one painted by hand and secured inside the hollowed out space of the gourd. The gourd ornament was hand carved, painted and polished by a family of artisans in Cochas, Peru. The interior is painted a midnight blue and white to recreate the sky, while the exterior is covered with stars. It took 3 days to the artisan to complete this art. Nativity gourd is available in Red, Orange, Green, Natural, Purple. All our gourds are biodegradable, when you consider that it’s time for its second life, please bury in the ground (including the wood Shaquira), it will help as fertilizer and nutrients for the soil.
