Our name, “pluff mud,” reflects more than a place — it evokes childhood memories of crab traps at dusk, salt air on sun-warmed skin, collecting sand dollars, and laughing barefoot in the tidal marsh. It represents connection, nourishment, and the grounding energy of nature itself. This spirit lives in every product we create. Pluff Mud Mercantile was born from founder Gina Moore’s calling to blend beauty with purpose — to craft products that nurture the body, calm the mind, and restore the spirit. What began as a brick-and-mortar boutique has evolved into a thriving online and wholesale brand, offering thoughtfully curated candles, bath and body care, and coastal-inspired gifts. Our signature candles are hand-poured using clean-burning beeswax and soy wax, chosen for their natural properties and minimal environmental impact. These products are top notch. We're super-impressed. Be aware though, if it matters to your POS and inventory tracking, that these items are not retail-ready. There is no barcoding on the packaging. For us, this means assigning our own in-house barcodes and printing them on small stickers. Not impossible, but an extra step that we'd rather not have to find time to do.
