Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra is not only the author of Don Quixote. He is also a playwright, and this volume is the most complete proof of that. Published in 1962 by Ediciones Atlas in Madrid, this volume CLVI of Obras de Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra gathers his dramatic works within the prestigious "Biblioteca de Autores Españoles", a continuation of the Colección Rivadeneira, published with the authorization of the Real Academia Española. The preliminary study and the edition are by Don Francisco Ynduráin. The volume reproduces in facsimile the original 1615 title page: "Ocho Comedias y Ocho Entremeses Nuevos, nunca representados, compuestas por Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra", dedicated to Don Pedro Fernández de Castro, Count of Lemos, Viceroy of Naples. A document within the document. Condition fair to good for a paperback: cream-colored worn cover, readable spine bearing the indication "C.LVI" in Roman numerals, interior complete and clean, browned paper, age-darkened edges.
