Rubber is a high quality neoprene material. It is vegan and made in the USA. I recommend faux suede for babies who are not mobile yet, and rubber for crawlers and walkers. To increase shoe durability add a toe guard. Toe guards protect the area of the shoe which wears first from walking or dragging the shoe across the floor while crawling.
