Artist: Joris Hoefnagel Artwork: Guide for Constructing the Letter L Medium: Watercolors, gold and silver paint, and ink Description A phoenix or pelican rises over a solemn L, surrounded by vases, serpents, jewels, and pinecone-topped torches.
