It offers woody notes of eucalyptus and liquorice. Lapsang Souchong tea is also called Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong or White Spikes. This tea reveals woody and smoky notes, with an amber color and a slight bitterness but not astringent. Also note that these leaves are low in theine or caffeine which allows you to drink this tea at any time of the day. Caffeine is found in higher amounts in the buds and young leaves of the tea tree because it contributes to its growth.
