Hundreds of people do the tying and dyeing work, but only a few specialize in labor tying. These few are “amarradores,” men and women who tie labor jaspe that originate from amarrador lineage. Our amarradores first arrange the threads, then tie them into their designs. After dyeing, the threads are realigned before weaving. These first few steps are critical to the striking clarity of the handwoven patterns. Finally, once the textiles are dyed and woven, we send them to our impeccably skilled sewers who transform the fabric into our unique Jaspe Jackets.
