With a silky sky-blue hue, Angelite opens the heart to subtle dimensions and gentle communication. History & symbolism Discovered in Peru in 1987, Angelite is a relatively recent stone in the world of lithotherapy but it quickly won over practitioners with its gentle vibration. Its name evokes angels and celestial realms — an association born of its sky color and the soothing energy attributed to it. In Andean tradition, blue stones were associated with the heavens and Inca solar deities. Traditional properties Angelite is traditionally associated with communication and authentic expression. According to lithotherapy, it would help soothe tensions and promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts. Practitioners ascribe to it an effect on the throat and third eye chakras, encouraging clairvoyance and intuitive listening. It is reputed to support compassion toward oneself and others. The stone Angelite is a variety of anhydrite (CaSO4), calcium sulfate, orthorhombic system, hardness 3.5 on the Mohs scale. Its blue-lilac color is due to traces of titanium. It is primarily mined in Peru, Mexico and England. Its relative softness requires protecting it from water and impacts. Dimensions: approximately 1 cm x 1 cm.
