Just as an equilateral triangle has three corners that are all connected to each other, and a regular tetrahedron has four corners that are all connected to each other, the hypersimplex has five corners that are all connected to each other. In the fourth dimension, the five vertices would all be the same distance apart, but that is not possible in three dimensions.
