Ceramic hand-painted nazar (evil eye) pendant on a 16" hypoallergenic stainless steel chain with lobster clasp. The nazar design is painted on with underglaze and then a glossy clear glaze is applied over that. The pendant measures about 1" wide. All jewelry is shipped in a gift box, so your piece will travel safely and can be gift ready! I make all my jewelry with either hypoallergenic niobium or stainless steel findings. The best part is, they will not tarnish! In Turkish culture the nazar image symbolizes the "evil eye" -- the eye of jealousy -- thought to bring harm or misfortune. If one wears or displays the nazar, the eye repels that energy thereby dispelling any negative effects. Ceramic earrings are pretty sturdy since they're fired in a kiln at 2232°F (1220°C)!
