"Being good is easy, what is difficult is being just." -Victor Hugo   The concept of justice is hard to get one's mind around. Yet, as slippery as the fish might be, mankind has forever tried catching it with its bare hands. Justice is intertwined with morality and leaves all too much room for subjectivity. However, we link incredible amounts of our lives to this 'basic' concept. This becomes highly problematic when we attach this concept to severe discussions, of which, most importantly punishment. Holding the reins over large parts of Renaissance Italy, the De Medici family was able to impose their version of justice. A display of their moral power in the matter led to the spawn of Firenze's Column of Justice - the basis of our Colonna.
