tantan means grey in the Tzotzil Maya language, spoken by the women who weave these totes in the highlands of Chiapas. Hand woven on a backstrap loom, this gorgeous textile began its life as two humble threads. By virtue of the skill and artistry of generations of Maya weavers, those two threads were transformed by two human hands to become this beautiful bag. 100% cotton hand woven tote.
