History & symbolism: Brecciation is a geological process by which a rock is fractured (earthquake, sudden decompression) and then re-welded by mineralizing fluids. In the case of brecciated jasper, fragments of jasper of different colors become agglomerated by a chalcedony matrix, creating unique patterns impossible to reproduce artificially.
