The work “Caneva” by Francesco Toraldo is a polymaterial serigraphy on cardboard, which allows assembly without glass. Toraldo, born in Catanzaro in 1960, began his artistic career in 1974 and studied color techniques under the guidance of his father, also a painter. Toraldo's first exhibitions date back to the eighties, held in cities such as Genoa, Rome and Lecce. The work is characterized by a rigid support and has manual retouching, combining elements of American Abstract Expressionism, in particular the influence of Pollock and action painting.
