The Sophia Hat has been with me since the beginning of my design days, and has come a long way. It was the first knit of mine I ever sold back when I lived on Block Island, RI. I think people started to call it the "Sophia Hat" because it was a creation so "Sophia" (hi that's me!), what else could they call it?
