Description
Hand-painted Moroccan tagine, handmade in the Ourika Valley of the High Atlas Mountains. A true cooking vessel and elegant serving piece in one, finished with a striking white glaze and hand-brushed vertical stripes. Available in green, red, or blue stripes. Each tagine is hand-formed from rich red Moroccan clay and finished with a lead-free glaze. The cone-shaped lid traps steam during slow-cooking, infusing meats, vegetables, and stews with authentic Moroccan flavour. The warm terracotta base contrasts beautifully with the white painted lid for a striking tabletop centrepiece. Every piece is hand-painted with natural pigments by skilled artisans. Brushwork and stripe weight vary from piece to piece, marking each tagine as a genuine handmade object rather than a factory good. Goes seamlessly from stovetop to table. Use it to slow-cook stews and tagines, then serve directly to the table as a sculptural focal point. Why retailers love this tagine • Genuinely functional cookware, not just decorative • Hand-painted in Ourika Valley, the heart of Moroccan pottery • Three on-trend stripe colourways for mixed-stock displays • Lead-free glaze, food-safe earthenware • Strong gifting piece for housewarming, weddings, and kitchen lovers • High visual merchandising impact on kitchen and homeware shelves • Rides the rising interest in slow cooking and Mediterranean cuisine • Pairs with our other hand-painted Moroccan ceramics for a coordinated story Dimensions • 30 cm diameter Origin & craft Handmade and hand-painted in Ourika Valley, High Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Lead-free glazed earthenware. Traditional Moroccan pottery techniques passed through generations. Important: seasoning before first use Submerge the tagine in cold water for 4 to 6 hours or overnight. Remove, let dry completely, then rub the interior with olive oil. Ready to use. About crazing After heat use, fine lines (crazing) may appear in the glaze. This is normal and expected with traditional earthenware. It does not affect cooking performance or food safety, and is part of the authentic handmade nature of these pieces. Cooking & care Suitable for gas stovetop (heat diffuser recommended) and induction (heat diffuser required). Hand-wash with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Dry thoroughly. Not dishwasher or microwave safe. Store away from extreme temperature changes. Please note Each tagine is individually handmade and hand-painted. Natural variation in brushwork, glaze, and clay character is part of the authenticity of every piece.
