The last World Cup home shirt design released by the USSR, coming just before dissolution in 1991. In 1990, the Soviet team looked to improve on their Round of 16 finish from the previous World Cup. But despite a convincing 4-0 victory over Cameroon in their last group stage match, they could not overcome defeats from Argentina and Romania and bowed out at the group stage. This design was a bold departure from the USSR's traditionally minimalist, simple red shirts. They hallmarked their last ever World Cup shirt with progressive experimentation in style. A marble pattern print splashes across the Soviet red, in asymmetric streaks of white.
