These crystals are resin from a tree found in the East Indies. It is used for hardening beeswax by raising its melting temperature when used in encaustic applications. To make your own encaustic medium: because the damar is in its raw state (it comes from the tree), it must be melted with the beeswax and strained to remove impurities. Use in a well-ventilated area. The products are great but the shipping time is extremely slow (I ordered mid May and received late July) and they have zero communication. I messaged three times about a damaged item and never received a response. Faire messaged and didn’t either. Jacquard also didn’t update the shipping so I couldn’t fill out the damage request bc it looked like the order never shipped. Faire had to auto update the order as delivered so I could make a claim bc Jacquard never updated or responded.
