Areion was a fabulous horse, which Poseidon begot by Demeter; for to escape from the pursuit of Poseidon, the goddess had metamorphosed herself into a mare, and Poseidon deceived her by assuming the figure of a horse. Demeter afterwards gave birth to the horse Areion, and a daughter whose name remained unknown to the uninitiated. Boreas, the purple-winged god of the north wind, symbolized winter's chill and fertility. In Greek folklore, he was depicted as a horse-shaped deity, believed to sire the swiftest horses by mating with mares in spring. The 'Areion and Boreas' mold is versatile, suitable for clay, resin, or food decoration like chocolate or fondant. For resin, a release agent like cooking oil spray is advised, while clay users should apply cornstarch, talcum powder, or water for easier molding.
