Product : These beautiful scarves are handwoven in pure cashmere by women artisans in the Indian Himalayan region. 100x200cm. 200g Soft tones of pale orange coloured wool, woven with yellow and off white stripes. This cooperative was created to develop work and economic stability in an underdeveloped rural region, promoting the passing on of ancestral weaving techniques. The wool used comes from yak, sheep and goat raised by nomadic herders and local shepherds on the Himalayan Plateau. The wool is gathered by herders each spring, when the animals lose their soft wool under layer for the summer. A process that is painless for the animals.
