Our Momposina Baskets come from Cascajal, located in Bolivar, Colombia. The baskets are handwoven by artisans who use the Sara Palm to create these beautiful pieces. The palm fibers are easily found during April through June, the summer season when the palm can be harvested. Craftswomen are the experts hand woven the fiber and creating stories under specific names that identify each piece within their culture (pinta loca, lomillo, pico, orilla coco, etc)
