Both elegant and rustic, these organic shaped ceramic Matte White Plates are hand finished with a clean charcoal rim and unglazed underside. Reminiscent of freshly whipped cream, the surface is smooth but uneven. Each plate is unique. THE SALAD PLATE Size: 8.3" Diameter CARE & MAINTENANCE In general, matte ceramics, although beautiful, require more maintenance than gloss glazed plates. Due to the lack of a glossy protective layer, matte ceramics are more susceptible to flatware marks and stains. Flatware marks are not an indicator of poor quality, but rather due to the nature of the ceramic. The flatware marks may look like scratches, but are actually the result of the softer flatware metal rubbing on the stronger ceramic surface. That said, we recommend being gentle with your flatware when using these ceramics. To remove flatware marks, we recommend hand washing the dishes with Bar Keepers Friend. These ceramics are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe (up to 250° F).
