Description
"A versatile kitchen towel that doubles as an apron. The Mungo Cook’s Cloth is more than just a kitchen towel. With its multi-use design, it transitions seamlessly between tasks - use it as a dishcloth, apron, or generously sized napkin. Woven from an absorbent, hard-wearing cotton-linen blend on our antique Hattersley loom, it features a traditional true selvedge and a timeless herringbone weave. Cooks Cloth Features: Waist tie for apron functionality. Buttonhole for hands-free front coverage while eating. Hanging loop for easy storage. Durable, absorbent cotton and linen. Traditional true selvedge. Classic herringbone weave. Cotton and Linen, Woven to Last The Cook’s Cloth is woven from a blend of cotton and linen - a pure cotton warp and a cotton- linen weft. The result is a cloth with a soft handle, strong absorbency and durability. Its hard-wearing construction ensures it stands up to everyday kitchen use with ease. Traditional Weaving, Timeless Design The Cook’s Cloth is woven on our antique Hattersley loom - a late 19th-century domestic kit loom that once ran from the Cape Town Mungo store on Hout Street. Since joining the rest of our looms at the Mungo Mill in Plettenberg Bay, it now stands sentinel at the front of the Mungo Mill - a beautifully restored relic that completes our story of weaving through the ages, from pre-industrial to present-day.
