About Upper Metal Class

Upper Metal Class - a minimalist style with a hint of light hearted fun. Each hand crafted design is developed with simplicity in mind while drawing inspiration from architecture, math, science and the natural life around us. Based in Portland, Oregon. We are always looking for ways to improve our everyday practices in all aspects striving towards using recycled metals, packaging material including protective bags that are earth friendly & biodegradable. Hi my name is T and I'm the designer for Upper Metal Class. My family were refugees of the Vietnam war and were able to survive to come to the US for a better opportunity in life. As a little girl I grew up in low income neighborhoods such as the projects where there were gangs, theft and violence, but with that we were also surrounded by others from different races all living in the same community with a common goal to be better by striving toward the idea of an upper middle class life. With that comes strong values, hard work, determination and knowing where you came from. Upper Metal Class symbolizes and embodies all of these things. If it wasn't for the help and support of others I would not be here today. I am grateful for my opportunities which is why I believe it is important to give back by donating a portion of my profits to non-profit organizations who help the community and make the world better.Read their story
