Wholesale Salicornia - 30g

Salicornia is a plant that grows in the area closest to saltwater, thriving during the warmer months along the salt pans of the Algarve. It was already used during the Age of Discovery. This vegetable, also known as sea asparagus, produces succulent stems about 40 cm long with a salty taste. This flavor comes from the direct absorption of sea salt from the water and soil where it grows. The salty flavor makes salicornia a great substitute for salt in cooking, often referred to as "green salt."
