Wholesale Spherical studio stoneware vase – Stylized botanical decoration – Signed ceramic

There are ceramics that attract the eye with their colors, and others by the atmosphere they give off. This vase belongs to the second category. Its generous, well-balanced bulbous silhouette is covered with a speckled celadon-green glaze, enlivened by a design of large stylized leaves painted in a reddish-brown engobe and highlighted with touches of gold. The rim of the neck, in a metallic copper-brown glaze, contrasts with the softness of the body. Firing variations, the glaze’s deep reflections and subtle material nuances make each side different, as if the light brings the piece to life. Height approximately 14 cm, neck diameter approximately 10 cm. Entirely wheel-thrown and hand-decorated, it sits within the great tradition of French stoneware studios of the 1970s–1980s, where each creation had its own personality. A potter’s mark is incised under the base, indicating careful studio production. It accommodates both a bouquet of dried flowers and a single branch, but is self-sufficient as a decorative object. Placed on a shelf, a desk or a windowsill, it catches the light and changes appearance with the hour.
