We designed Soft Checks around a softened geometric check that gives the table structure while keeping the overall effect relaxed. The White, Blue palette is built to layer with wood, stoneware, and quieter solid linens. Material and Process We print the motif by hand on 20s cotton sheeting, a plain-woven cotton ground. Each color is applied separately with carved blocks, so the printed line retains the small shifts and changes in density that distinguish hand printing from a mechanically repeated surface.
