These inks are excellent for calligraphy or illustration, the color density is easily adjusted with water to create a range of vivid opaque inks to transparent washes. Each stick is housed in a special box and has a light, traditional Japanese fragrance. To use, add a small amount of water to a grinding stone and use light pressure to grind the short end of the ink stick. Dilute with water on the grinding stone for lighter effects, do not submerge the ink stick in water.
