Acqua Panna originates in Tuscany, at the foot of the Apennines, on the former property of the Medici, between Florence and Bologna. This spring was well known to travelers of the past who took this route and stopped at the property to "recharge." Rediscovered in 1564, it has been commercially exploited since 1860 by the Marquise of Torrigiani, who sent amphorae to Florence.
