Description
The use of aromatic substances in India dates back over 5,000 years. References to fragrant woods, herbs, resins, and offerings can be found in the Vedas, the oldest sacred texts of India. In the Rig Veda and Atharva Veda, aromatic plants and sacred fires were used in rituals to invoke deities, purify the environment, and create harmony between the human and divine realms. The smoke itself was viewed as sacred and transformative. To this day, these rituals are performed all over India. Incense as an Offering of the Five Elements In yogic philosophy, incense is associated primarily with: Air (Vayu) and Space (Akasha) As the incense burns: * The earth element becomes ash. * The fire element transforms it. * The air element carries the fragrance. * The space element receives the offering. Thus incense becomes a symbolic offering of the five elements back to their source. From the Vedas to our modern lives, PAUS incense was designed to create intentional moments of “pause” in your daily lives, through scent. Each cone burns for 20 minutes, acting as a reminder to engage in small yet meaningful activities that you enjoy. All of the unique fragrance blends have been crafted to evoke specific moods and make your home smell like a spa. At the end of your day, light your favorite PAUS incense, make a cup of tea, journal, meditate and relax. Fragrance Oils (main aroma substance): * We only use 100% natural and export-grade fragrance oils in our incense cones. These oils are usually used for making candles, soaps, body perfumes, diffusers, room spray etc and are skin and hair-friendly. * No synthetic fragrances are used. Natural Pigments (for visual appeal): * Natural pigments are used to create visual interest and also to help customers distinguish different fragrances in our discovery pack (or else everything would look the same). * There are no chemical colorants or mica powders in PAUS incense. PAUS begins with rubber wood powder (white in colour) as the base (instead of the usual Joss/ Jiggat powder - brown wood powder widely used). Natural fruit and vegetable powders are mixed in the incense dough to achieve the colour. The colour shade will vary slightly in each batch (like any natural product) Each of these ingredients is formed into a dough using water and kneaded for a long time. This formed dough is used to create incense cones (done in
