Reviving Red Pine: From Withering Trees to Shaved Wood Journals - Facing the challenge of pine wilt disease, we’ve chosen to infuse new life into these resilient trees, seamlessly integrating them into our daily lives. Each journal is meticulously handcrafted from reclaimed “Akamatsu” red pine, sourced from the Shinshu Ina Valley in Nagano, Japan. Adding to this “living” journal’s character, it may warp or crack over time. As time passes, the color may change. Red pine oils may get on the cover and spine, adding to this journal’s charm. As each of these wood crafted journals are carefully hand-bound. As in all natural things, it is important to appreciate the unique, delicate beauty and to appreciate its imperfections.
