Most of us have heard of Krampus, a terrifying goat legged creature that descends upon alpine towns, seeking out naughty children to haul them away to be punished during Christmas season. But Krampus is a much older part of folklore, one less told, how this creature is actually the son of the keeper of the underworld in Norse mythology, and apart of pagan celebrations during the solstice. The modern version of Krampus works along side Saint Nicholas in early December. None the less, many traditions still exist that incorporate Krampus today.
