Description
A Petoskey stone bead and a Leland blue bead swing from a graceful sterling silver loop on this statement sized pendant. This pendant comes on a 30 inch chain of sterling silver that gives it a great boho vibe and easily slips over your head. Petoskey stones are a fossilized coral most often found in Lake Michigan. The vast majority are found in the Little Traverse Bay region of Lake Michigan near the towns of Petoskey and Harbor Springs, Michigan. Leland blue is a glass-like byproduct of the iron industry in Northern Michigan. Well over 100 years ago this by-product, called slag, was discarded in Lake Michigan. It has been washing up on shore ever since, especially near its namesake town of Leland, MI. Jewelers and rockhounds have been collecting and using this "Stone" for years. I work with local stone cutters and personally choose the best looking stones. This pendant is 3 inches long and 1.6 inches wide. The Petoskey stone is just under an inch in diameter. This pendant comes with a 30 inch sterling silver chain. Both Petoskey stones and Leland blues tend to vary a lot in color and pattern. Your necklace will be unique. I have included photos of multiple pendants so that you can see the possible variety. You will only receive ONE necklace with this listing. I have included a photo with the matching earrings. These can be purchased in another listing on my shop. This listing is only for the pendant. Each piece that leaves my workshop is marked on the back with "IE" So you know it is an IndigoEdenArts original and ".925" Which certifies that it is made of sterling silver. Enjoy!
